Why You May Not Be Getting Paid What You’re Worth as a Freelance Writer
Why are some freelance writers doing so well while others are struggling to pay their bills?

You may be aware that many freelance writers earn a comfortable income, and some even earn a sizable income that provides them the ability to support their families with a fabulous lifestyle.
However, you, on the other hand, may find yourself struggling to scrape together enough assignments to make ends meet on a regular basis.
Why are some freelance writers doing so well while others are struggling to pay their bills?
There are a few key reasons why you may not be earning the income you want as a freelance writer and we will touch on a few in this article.
Too Picky About the Writing Projects You Take
One reason why you may not be earning the type of income you could potentially make in this industry is because you may be too picky with regard to writing assignments or even clients.
It’s true, you are considered an independent contractor and can pick and choose your writing assignments, as well as your clients. However, the fact of the matter is that this is a job, and sometimes you cannot be as choosy and selective as you would like to be.
In short, when it comes to earning a great living as a freelance writer, or barely scraping by, especially if you are just starting out, sometimes you may have to take on writing assignments that seem less than desirable.
Now, with that said, even though the writing assignments may not be the type of writing you would like to be doing, I would never recommend working with a client that is just too difficult to work with — it’s simply not healthy.
Works Not High-Quality Enough
Many freelance writers today enjoy regular work from repeat clients. If you’ve been working in this field for more than a few months and still have not enjoyed a request for additional work from your clients, you may not be providing high-quality results with your finished products.
